So Hunter S. Thompson has killed himself. I can’t say I was wild about his work, but he sure as hell was a colorful character.

As promised, here’re some photos of our recent motorcycle trip down the east coast of Taiwan. Enjoy.

And you laughed. You laughed at my chopticks-with-little-forks-on-their-ends idea.

Well. I give you this. My first prototype. Fashioned it last weekend. Used some standard wooden chopsticks and affixed some dumpling-pokers with a couple rubber bands.

Are you ready to change the world? Overtures from angel investors will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. (P.S. chopsticks + forks = chorks)

I won’t be posting here for the next week. Our school is closed for Chinese New Year, so Jill and I are heading out of town Monday morning to motorcycle down the East coast of Taiwan.

The details: We’re shipping our bike (a 150 cc steed I borrowed from a friend) from here to Hualien tomorrow on an overnight train. And then we’re flying up there, where we’ll pick the motorcycle up and begin our journey.

Here’s a map–we’ll be traveling from Hualien down to Taitung and back over here to Kaohsiung; the trip, we’re thinking, will take 5 or 6 days–we have no firm itinerary, and we’ll have lots of time to rest along the way.
