Do visit the Little India neighborhood in Penang, and try some of the cheap eats in the cafes. Great stuff. You might also rent a motorycle and go around the island in about five or six hours. Batu Ferringhi is a big waste of time, but the decaying old Chinese tin baron mansions along the waterfront are well worth checking out. The old British cemetery is also worth a look.
