In fact, I was working at Kasetsart U at the time and remember how frantically desperate everybody seemed to cash in on his alleged Thainess, and how disinterested he appeared... The honorary degree in particular was ridiculous. By the way, I seem to recall an Onion article about Wood's Thai half earning only $150 or something, but can't find it.
