Glowing Pigs

BBC:

Scientists in Taiwan say they have bred three pigs that “glow in the dark”.

They claim that while other researchers have bred partly fluorescent pigs, theirs are the only pigs in the world which are green through and through.

The pigs are transgenic, created by adding genetic material from jellyfish into a normal pig embryo.

I totally want one.

  1. Do you think they could make a glowing penguin? I would really go for that.

These are soooo cool. I heard about them in science class today. I totally want one. If they breed and the piglets are also flourecent, then maybe in a long time, all pigs will glow. That would be sweet. Then everyone could have a glowing pig!!!!!!!

You people are so stupid. This was not done for the coolness factor. These pigs were breed to see if geneticly altered pigs could pass the genes to their babies. It was done so that they could see if they can start breeding pigs with specific traits that would allow them to be used as human organ donors. I think it is discusting. I dont want any pigs organs in me. That is just plain gross!
