Observations on this photo and its caption:
1) That is an enormous carp.
2) Kurt Grabmayer and Manfred Pfeffer, the anglers in the picture, have funny names. According to this site, Kurt is a “carp - predator - allround expert & rod building,” and Manfred is a “carp expert.”
3) Austria has a carp fishing team?
4) I find it curious that the units of measurement in the caption are inconsistent: the first fish is described using kilograms, while the lunker, the “elusive creature,” is described in pounds. The fish in that photo weighs 18.3 kilograms, which is roughly 40 pounds. That means there’s a carp in that lake that weighs more than twice as much as that one. Wow.
